Hollywood is no place for a lady, which is why you won't find The Binkster lounging poolside at The Standard Hotel any time soon. This canine diva prefers lakeside living in one of the Northwest's hidden jewels, away from the constant click of the Paparazzi cameras which hound her as she shops for the very latest and greatest in pug fashion on Melrose. "Clothes make the girl" Binkster points out, "and I always make sure I look my best. I love the styles of Outward Hound! I recently got a boating outfit from them and my friends cannot stop raving about it. It even has a handle".

Binkster really shows her
stuff in this stylish new
boating outfit.

Most days you can find Binky enjoying life as one of the most pampered pooches on the West Coast. An average day begins with other regulars at a local coffee shop, the place to see and be seen in Lake Chinook, Oregon. She always gets some extra attention, and a little pastry, from the generous baristas who cater to her every whim. "My favorite food is Mochi, but I'm not about to say no to a bit of baked goodness" she says between mouthfuls of bran muffin. Mindful of her celebrity status, Binky usually ops for a quick walk after indulging in a bit of cheese danish or blueberry scone. If the weather is right, afternoons are spent cruising the lake in her ski boat on the lookout for new friends and the occasional duck. Spotting a potential new acquaintance, Binkster immediately lets loose with a series of important and ferocious barks.

Everyone knows this is a dog whose star is obviously on the rise!

The Binkster is a major mover and shaker in the Northwest social scene. Invitations to her many parties and get-togethers are sought after by all, as her soirees are guaranteed to deliver a good time. This is one pooch who likes to party!

"I just love people, I don't care who they are! I love to meet new friends and hope they share some of their dinner with me when I look at them with my irresistibly cute eyes." At a recent Caribbean themed bash held at her home, Binks dressed up with the rest of her guests in leis and flowered apparel and danced the midsummer night away. She received tidbits from guests' plates and hugs in abundance wherever she went. All in a day's work for the renowned Princess of Pugs.

As with any celebrity, life hasn't always been easy. There have been some rough patches in the past, like the time she was passed up for a starring role in Men in Black. "I had worked really hard to hone my acting skills and prepare for the role. The chance to co-star with that hottie Will Smith made me work my tail off. I was hoping the producer and director would see that," she remembers. Sadly, it was not to be. "They cast that other pug just because he was male. And really, he wasn't much of an actor. I understand they had to hire someone to do his voice over to save the scenes.

"I just have to stop being
so irresistibly charming.
"

The part of the alien pug was originally much bigger but most of it ended up on the cutting room floor. But Hollywood has that damn glass ceiling and it's hard for a woman to make it, especially if she's a dog." That said, Binks has gone on to bigger and better things. She currently has a starring role in CANDY APPLE RED, the first of the Jane Kelly Mystery Series. Her character is central to the stories, and who better to play the part of The Binkster than Binks herself? There's even a rumor that her part could even be expanded and with such a bright future, can Hollywood be far behind?

With her career skyrocketing, what's Binkster's biggest problem these days? Like the rest of us ladies, Binks struggles with her weight. "I'm going on tour soon and I need to lose a few pounds so I can fit into my airline carrier. It's hard because people always seem to be giving me food and my willpower is so low. If I don't lose the weight I can't be in my carrier and would have to ride in the cargo hold….and no diva should travel that way". She is working to meet her travel weight goal which means no more tidbits at mealtimes. "I still have the occasional Mochi though. You really shouldn't deprive yourself. I just have to keep exercising and stop begging at the dinner table. It's hard, but I know I can do it. I just have to stop being so irresistibly charming. That's going to be rough because it's my nature to be a beggar….I mean, pleaser. It's just who I am".
